School… Ugh :(

Ugh, tomorrow is school. No more summer. 😦

Sorry I haven’t posted much this past week. I didn’t have much to write, but don’t you worry, I have been reading A LOT of posts!!

I really don’t want to start school tomorrow (but I guess that’s what everybody says!). At least I have most of my friends in my class! I was SO excited when I got to see my class list online! 🙂

Here’s are some songs (random!)!

Hey, Long Time, No See!

Hey everyone. I feel like I haven’t posted in a while, even though it’s been only seven (?) days. But don’t worry! All that time I’ve been on WordPress checking my Reader and Freshly Pressed and doing other stuff too. I just didn’t know what to write!

This week I’m staying at my grandparents house while my parents are working. This month I don’t have much to do. Next week my mom is off from work so I get to stay home. Then the next week I’m going to my other grandparents house who live 5 hours away in Pittsburgh. Then I’m going to my grandparents house where I’m here right now. Then it’s (ugh, don’t say it!!!) back to school. Bleh, boring school. I don’t even want to talk about it. 🙂

Anyway, I guess my summer so far has been really good. The beach, camps, and lots and lots of relaxing. My favorite part of the year! 🙂

Right now me, Kat, my grandparents, my aunt, my uncle, and my cousins are on our yearly trip to Ocean City, NJ. 🙂 I L-O-V-E the beach, if you haven’t found out already from an earlier post. Today we stayed there for four hours! I probably haven’t wrote in a while because last week I went to an overnight camp and I didn’t exactly have any computers out there. 🙂 Anyway, I know exactly what’s going to happen this week: time’s going to go by too fast. Summer’s going by too fast. Soon I’m going to go back to school. Ugh. 😦 More tests, more exams. Whatever, I’m going to try and NOT think about school. Got to go!

AAH! The Beach!!

Today at camp, we took a field trip to Seaside Heights! It was amazing, partly because I LOVE the beach! If anyone doesn’t, just comment on this below (oh my gosh I’m going to faint!).

What is it, that one thing that everyone just loves about the beach? Maybe it’s the feeling of the grains of sand squeezing their way through your toes. Or the way the waves give you a rush of adrenaline when they hit you or when you bounce over the huge ones. Or it’s the way the sky looks when the sun is shining brightly across the shore. Whatever it is, I love every part of it. When my parents, sisters, grandparents, and my uncle, aunt, and cousins and I go to Ocean City, NJ, it feels like time either slows down or speeds up and I can’t live in the moment forever. I LOVE going to Ocean City, I have almost all of my beach memories there.

In the future, I would also love to go to the Bermuda or Australian beaches, but for now, I’m just going to enjoy my summer and the time I have in the beach closest to me. 🙂

My Thoughts On a Previously Read Book

Talia fell under a spell…
Jack broke the curse.

I was told to beware the accursed spindle, but it was so enchanting, so hypnotic. . . .

I was looking for a little adventure the day I ditched my tour group. But finding a comatose town, with a hot-looking chick asleep in it, was so not what I had in mind.

I awakened in the same place but in another time—to a stranger’s soft kiss.

I couldn’t help kissing her. Sometimes you just have to kiss someone. I didn’t know this would happen.

Now I am in dire trouble because my father, the king, says I have brought ruin upon our country. I have no choice but to run away with this commoner!

Now I’m stuck with a bratty princess and a trunk full of her jewels. . . . The good news: My parents will freak!

Think you have dating issues? Try locking lips with a snoozing stunner who turns out to be 316 years old. Can a kiss transcend all—even time?

This is a book based on the story Sleeping Beauty but is more modern. Jack is bored in Europe and wants to explore. He goes away from his tour group with his friend Travis and finds and old castle. He finds a girl named Talia and kisses her. It makes Talia wake up from a long sleep. A few days after Jack first wakes Talia up, Talia wants to run away with him because she thinks her father is mad at her for ruining the kingdom. They flee the castle and as the story goes on, Jack has to explain everything that has currently been invented, because Talia is over 300 years old. That brought up some questions for me. If you were in Jack’s place, how would you explain some of the things Talia has never heard of, such as a cell phone? Here are some questions she asks Jack:

  • “Why is your friend inside the phone? Is is witchcraft?”
  • “How do buses go so fast? They are faster than the horses and carriages in all of my kingdom!”
  • “Why isn’t there any grass in the city?”
  • “What is a passport? Why do we need them?”
  • “How long will it take to get back to your country? Won’t it take a long time; maybe a couple weeks?”
  • “What sort of ship can journey to the other side of the earth in a day?”

This book made me realize how much this world has changed in the past centuries. This book is a great story, and if anyone out there has the time, PLEASE read it. Also, try Beastly by Alex Flinn, too.

Hey guys, Kat here! Just before my class left on the last day of school, we talked about what we were doing this summer. I found a lot of the same things being said. There were even some that I never even thought about. Anyway, that got me wondering, what are the top 10 things to do in the summer? I looked on some websites and found the best answers.

10. Have a water balloon fight.
9. Invent a new type of ice cream, pizza, etc.
8. Sleep under the stars.
7. Make a collage out of words/pictures from magazines.
6. Make your own popsicles.
5. Play some mini golf.
4. Have a marathon of your favorite game.
3. See a firework show.
2. Run through a sprinkler.
1. Go swimming.
