Follow-Up To Witch By Christopher Pike

I recently finished Witch by Christopher Pike a few moments ago and now I have to say that Witch is now my favorite book. And that’s saying a lot, considering that I am a book lover and I can never even guess how many books I have read.

Looking at this book in the library, I remember thinking this book was to just pass the time. I never would have thought this book would make an impact on my reading life.

You know that feeling, when you read an extraordinary book, and you finish it, you’re life has been changed in a minor way, and no one understands how you feel even when you tell them aout it? That’s how I feel right now.

No one will ever know how great this book is by me just telling you about it. You have to make the step and read this book. I never read a book like this before, and it touched me in ways that I have never thought possible. Who knew that someone could have this wonderful idea just floating around in their head?

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend reading this book. This is inspiration for me for future stories that I will read or write. Good luck to anyone who is writing any of their own stories.

Does anyone have any books they have ever read that has affected them in their life? If so, I would LOVE to hear about it and I will try to read those books myself!

Have a great day everyone and don’t forget to read until you can’t read anymore!

“Do not read, as children do, to amuse yourself, or like the ambitious, for the purpose of instruction. No, read in order to live.”

A Book I’m Reading

She was a good witch.

Julia is a young woman with extraordinary powers. She has the ability to heal people with her touch. She can also know the things that are happening in far off places when she looks in water that has sunlight shining on it. She comes from a tradition of witches, of good witches. But before Julia’s mother died, she warned her daughter never to look in water that had moonlight shining on it.

Unfortunately, almost by accident, Julia does so. What she sees is a vision of the future, a scene in which a young man she doesn’t know is shot in a hold-up and dies in her arms. Only later, when Julia attends a football game at school, does she meets the young man.

He is her girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

Julia immediately falls for the guy, but it is an ill-fated love. He does not belong to her and he is supposed to die. Or does he have to die? Julia doesn’t know if her vision of the future is set, or if it can be changed. She doesn’t know why the gunman in her vision evokes such a hatred in her, and why she feels she must destroy him at all costs. But using the supernatural  powers at her command, and risking her own life, plus the lives of her friends, Julia will find the answers to all these questions, at a terrible cost.

Right now I’m at my grandparents house in Pittsburgh. I LOVE books, and what’s really cool is my grandparents live near a LIBRARY! Woohoo!

I was looking through the teens/children’s/whatever you want to call it section. 🙂 I saw this author: Christopher Pike. He has really cool books, and I’m glad I found his books, because they’re REALLY good. As I’m reading them I’ll try to post about them and if you ever have the time you should definitely read them.

My Thoughts On a Previously Read Book

Talia fell under a spell…
Jack broke the curse.

I was told to beware the accursed spindle, but it was so enchanting, so hypnotic. . . .

I was looking for a little adventure the day I ditched my tour group. But finding a comatose town, with a hot-looking chick asleep in it, was so not what I had in mind.

I awakened in the same place but in another time—to a stranger’s soft kiss.

I couldn’t help kissing her. Sometimes you just have to kiss someone. I didn’t know this would happen.

Now I am in dire trouble because my father, the king, says I have brought ruin upon our country. I have no choice but to run away with this commoner!

Now I’m stuck with a bratty princess and a trunk full of her jewels. . . . The good news: My parents will freak!

Think you have dating issues? Try locking lips with a snoozing stunner who turns out to be 316 years old. Can a kiss transcend all—even time?

This is a book based on the story Sleeping Beauty but is more modern. Jack is bored in Europe and wants to explore. He goes away from his tour group with his friend Travis and finds and old castle. He finds a girl named Talia and kisses her. It makes Talia wake up from a long sleep. A few days after Jack first wakes Talia up, Talia wants to run away with him because she thinks her father is mad at her for ruining the kingdom. They flee the castle and as the story goes on, Jack has to explain everything that has currently been invented, because Talia is over 300 years old. That brought up some questions for me. If you were in Jack’s place, how would you explain some of the things Talia has never heard of, such as a cell phone? Here are some questions she asks Jack:

  • “Why is your friend inside the phone? Is is witchcraft?”
  • “How do buses go so fast? They are faster than the horses and carriages in all of my kingdom!”
  • “Why isn’t there any grass in the city?”
  • “What is a passport? Why do we need them?”
  • “How long will it take to get back to your country? Won’t it take a long time; maybe a couple weeks?”
  • “What sort of ship can journey to the other side of the earth in a day?”

This book made me realize how much this world has changed in the past centuries. This book is a great story, and if anyone out there has the time, PLEASE read it. Also, try Beastly by Alex Flinn, too.

The Vampire Stalker

Hey guys, this is Kit! There’s this GREAT book that I read and I couldn’t put down! I recommend to read it as soon as possible! It’s called The Vampire Stalker by Allison Van Diepen.

It’s about the main character Amy who is in love with someone who doesn’t exist: Alexander Banks, the hero in a popular series of vampire novels. Then one night, Amy meets a boy who looks creepily like Alexander. Actually, he IS Alexander, who has escaped from the pages of the book and is in hot pursuit of a wicked vampire named Vigo. Together, Amy and Alexander set out to track down Vigo and learn how and why Alexander crossed over into Amy’s world. But when she and Alexander begin to fall for each other, Amy wonders if she even wants him to ever return to the realm of fiction.

I hope you can read this book soon! (It’s AWESOME!)
